     Hannah Main was born on 5 May 1840 at Pike County, Illinois. She died on 19 October 1918 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, at age 78; fractured her hip August 21, 1918.
She died at 2 a. m; fractured hip, bronchitis and old age. I have copy of death certificate. She was buried on 20 October 1918 at Petty Highland Cemetery, Martinsburg Township, Pike County, Illinois.

She appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 at S.D.10, E.D.126; Sheet 1 A, Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; is age 60, with birthday as May 1840. She is listed as widowed, having had 1 child and it is living. Hannah is doing washing for a living. She lives not far from her daughter Della Troutner.

     Emily Jane Main was born on 19 December 1838 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois. She married William Walker, son of James Walker and Sarah Hibler, on 6 October 1861. Emily Jane Main died on 1 April 1904 at Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri, at age 65. She was buried after 1 April 1904 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri; I have picture of grave marker.

     Lutilia Johnson was born on 27 April 1823 at Lincoln County, Missouri. She married Andrew Main, son of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 27 September 1838 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. Lutilia Johnson died on 9 August 1892 at age 69. She was buried after 9 August 1892 at Petty Highland Cemetery, Martinsburg Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.

     Susan Troutner was born in 1826 at Ohio. She married David Main, son of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 27 January 1842 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license.
     Susan Troutner also went by the name of Aunt Tooky.

     William A. Watson was born on 19 October 1824. He married Rachel Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 26 October 1843 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. William A. Watson died on 23 April 1848 at age 23. He was buried after 23 April 1848 at Watson Cemetery, Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois.

     DeWitt C. St John was born circa 1826 at New York. He married Anna Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 26 October 1848 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. DeWitt C. St John died circa 1852.
     DeWitt C. St John is found in "1880 Pike County History" on page 239.

ASIATIC CHOLERA - While this scourge wrought great devastation in some sections of the United States in 1848-'9, Pike county almost escaped its ravages. In and about Pittsfield Dr. Comstock, DeWitt St. John, David Ober and wife, Mr. Main, Alvin Hash's wife and several strangers died, and at Kinderhook there were 15 or 20 cases of the disease. It seemed to have got out into the county from Louisiana, whither it had been brought by steamers from the lower Mississippi.

     David C. Troutner was born circa 1833 at Pickaway County, Ohio. He married Sarah 'Sally' Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 13 November 1853 at Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. David C. Troutner died on 6 April 1862 at Tennessee; was a 2nd Lieutenant killed at Shiloh.

     John August Nelson was born on 18 September 1915 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. He married Ethel Evelyn Main, daughter of Melvin Philip 'Mel' Main and Myrtle May Shipman, on 10 October 1935 at Kahoka, Clark County, Missouri. John August Nelson died on 10 January 1986 at Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado, at age 70.
     John August Nelson was a farmer.

     Ethel Evelyn Main was born on 15 July 1912 at Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa. She married John August Nelson, son of William August Nelson and Hazel Fountain, on 10 October 1935 at Kahoka, Clark County, Missouri. Ethel Evelyn Main died on 7 December 2003 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa, at age 91.

     William August Nelson was born on 27 February 1889 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. He married Hazel Fountain on 28 March 1914. William August Nelson died on 6 March 1972 at Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado, at age 83; I have copy of obituary. See obituary. He was buried on 10 March 1972 at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa; Gravestone located in Lot 24, Block 30.

     Hazel Fountain was born on 12 October 1893 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. She married William August Nelson on 28 March 1914. Hazel Fountain died on 21 August 1921 at Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa, at age 27; I have copy of obituary. See obituary. She was buried on 23 August 1921 at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa; Gravestone located in Lot 24, Blk 30.

     Myrtle May Shipman was born on 7 May 1876 at Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa. She married John Adam Fisher on 6 November 1895 at Louisa County, Iowa. Myrtle May Shipman married Melvin Philip 'Mel' Main, son of Melvin Philip Main and Rachel Troutner, on 1 August 1907 at Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa. Myrtle May Shipman died on 11 March 1960 at Lone Tree, Johnson County, Iowa, at age 83. She was buried after 11 March 1960 at Wapello Cemetery, Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa; I have picture of double marker with Melvin.

     Beulah Jessie Fisher was born on 30 April 1901. She married Albert Johnson on 16 November 1921. Beulah Jessie Fisher died on 26 April 1973 at age 71. She was buried after 26 April 1973 at Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.

     Elizabeth Heth was born on 7 March 1790 at Kentucky. She married John Troutner Sr. before 1825. Elizabeth Heth died on 13 July 1890 at Time, Pike County, Illinois, at age 100. She was buried after 13 July 1890 at Watson Cemetery, Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.

     William S. Weddle was born circa 1848 at Illinois. He married Rachel Main, daughter of David Main and Susan Troutner, on 18 May 1873 at Pike County, Illinois. William S. Weddle died on 10 February 1911. He was buried after 10 February 1911 at Hunter Nebo Cemetery, Spring Creek Township, Pike County, Illinois.

They are living next to John and Isabel Troutner. They have had one child and that child is living. He appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 at S.D.11; E.D.144; Sheet 2 B, Spring Creek Township - Nebo Village, Pike County, Illinois; is age 63, has been married 33 years to Rachel, and he is working as a house carpenter. On this census, Rachel has had no children. Robert Main was the enumerator of this census.

     Daniel R. Barry was born circa 1819 at New York. He married Anna Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 14 October 1855 at Pike County, Illinois; was found in Book I, Page 219. Daniel R. Barry died before 1900.
     Daniel R. Barry appeared on the census of 21 August 1860 at Page 15, Pleasant Hill Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 42, married to Anna age 35 and he is working as a miller, Three children are living with them. Mary Jane is listed as a Barry. He appeared on the census of 22 July 1870 at Page 10, Hardin Township - Time Post Office, Pike County, Illinois; is age 50 and is working as a sawyer. He appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 at S.D.6; E.D.179; Sheet 45 B & 46 A, Ross Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 64, married to Anna, and he is farming. With them, are five children, including Emma and her husband, John Miller.

     John W. Troutner was born on 9 December 1838. He married Elizabeth 'Betsy' Main, daughter of Solomon Main and Susannah Nye, on 29 March 1863 at Pike County, Illinois. John W. Troutner died on 23 August 1916 at age 77. He was buried after 23 August 1916 at Watson Cemetery, Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.

     Melba Maurine Main was born on 12 February 1910 at Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa. She married William Pierce Burton on 26 June 1935 at Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Melba Maurine Main died on 23 May 2008 at age 98; was found in the Social Security death index last living in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.

     John Main was born in 1839 at Pike County, Illinois. He married Mary Ann Walker, daughter of James Walker and Sarah Hibler, on 19 September 1860 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. John Main died in 1873 at Missouri; of Cholera.

     Rufus Main was born on 2 August 1841. He died on 11 November 1862 at age 21; was killed while fighting with a half-wit whom he had been teasing. The man pulled a pocket knife and stabbed Rufus. He was buried after 11 November 1862 at Petty Highland Cemetery, Martinsburg Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.
     Rufus Main never married.

     Alvin Nye Main was born on 17 January 1844. He married Lydia Sarah Foote, daughter of George Dorr Foote and Abigail Jane St John, on 7 September 1865 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of marriage license. Alvin Nye Main died on 27 April 1929 at Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois, at age 85. He was buried after 27 April 1929 at Pittsfield West Cemetery, Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.
     Alvin Nye Main began military service on 18 October 1861 He served in the Civil War. He mustered in as a recruit in Company B, 28th Regiment, Volunteer Infantry. I have copy of military certificate. He ended military service on 24 October 1864 at Morganza, Pointe Coupe, Louisiana. He appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 at S.D.6; E.D.187; Page 19, Hardin Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 36, married to Lydia age 33, and he is farming. Six children are living with them. He appeared on the census of 8 June 1900 at S.D.10; E.D.126; Sheet 10 A & B, Pittsfield Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 56, has been married 35 years to Lydia and Alvin is farming. They have had 8 children, 7 are living. He appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at S.D.11. E.D.135; Sheet 1 A, Newburg Township, Pike County, Illinois; is age 66, has been married 44 years to Lydia, and he is farming. They have had 5 children, all are living. Their son Rosco and their daughter Blanche Gay along with her daughter, Elizabeth, are with them. He appeared on the census of 15 January 1920 at S.D.12; E.D.170; Sheet 17 B & 18 A, Pittsfield City, Pike County, Illinois; is age 75, married to Lydia and he is not working. His daughter Blanche and sister-in-law, Allie Foote, are with them.

     Philip Melvin Main was born on 29 August 1847 at Pike County, Illinois. He married Amelia Baker on 3 February 1870 at Pike County, Illinois; I have copy of the marriage license. Joseph Troutner was Justice of the Peace. Philip Melvin Main died on 10 June 1946 at Mendocino County, California, at age 98. He was buried after 10 June 1946 at Casper Cemetery, Fort Bragg - near, Mendocino County, California.
     Philip Melvin Main removed 1877 to Mendocino, California. He was an employee in Lumber Milling. His daughter Daisy is divorced and living with Philip.

     Andrew Parker 'Dick' Main was born on 10 July 1849 at Illinois. He married Sarah Elizabeth Hack, daughter of William Andrew Hack and Polly Ann Hudnall, on 12 March 1871 at Pike County, Illinois. Andrew Parker 'Dick' Main married Frances Ellen Guthrie, daughter of Charles Grandison Guthrie and Fannie Dewitt, on 18 June 1913 at Nebo, Pike County, Illinois. Andrew Parker 'Dick' Main died on 5 April 1932 at Spring Creek Township, Pike County, Illinois, at age 82. He was buried after 5 April 1932 at Hunter Nebo Cemetery, Spring Creek Township, Pike County, Illinois; I have picture of grave marker.

     Sarah Jane Main was born in February 1852 at Illinois. She married Theodore Andrew Colvin, son of William A. Colvin, after 16 June 1880. Sarah Jane Main died in 1937 at Pike County, Illinois.
